CubCub Koda, the living spirit of rock'n'roll, a great songwriter, guitarist, blues-rock-R&B-etc historian, critic, journalist, crazed & cosmic Motor City clown, friend and human being, died on Saturday, July 01, 2000 from complications of kidney disease.

Many of you know the magnitude of this loss to the world of music, humor and humans. If you don't, Cub was a whale of a lot more than the guy who wrote "Smokin' in the Boys Room." All sorts of people will be willing to testify to that, from Bo Diddley and Link Wray on down. And there is his new album Noise Monkeys (J-Bird), the best he has made in the past 15 years, I think, and one that takes the wittiest tack on rock'n'roll fundamentals in at least that long, I know.

But if you need mere mortals, Cub's manager Doc Cavalier can be reached at 203 269 4465 or at doc@trod-nossel.com

Think well of my old pal and do as he would do: TURN IT UP!

love,
Dave Marsh
