A New You: Audiobooks For The Soul

Catherine Galasso-VigoritoWhen author, Catherine Galasso-Vigorito's (left), book publisher called Trod Nossel Studios to book a string of voice-over sessions for the recording of her newest audio book, "God Will Do The Rest," the staff was elated.  The book is due out in July 2009 and the audiobook, September 2009.  Ask anyone who knows Catherine and you will be told what an absolute joy she is to be around.  From the runway to the executive chair, she's seen and done it all.  "God Will Do The Rest" by Catherine Galasso-VigoritoHowever, don't let her representation of Connecicut in the 1988 Miss USA Pageant fool you into believing that she's just another pretty face; that couldn't be farther from the truth.  She has years of experience in TV and radio and in business in general; a burning combo to fuel the fires of her entrepreneurial spirit.  She is a brilliant writer with an impressive following for the last 15+ years as denoted in her syndicated column(s), "A New You," and in her books and TV appearances, while at the same time, has the innate ability to uplift the human soul even in its darkest hour.

"A New You" by Catherine Galasso-VigoritoThis elegant wife and mother of 3 certainly has all the balls in the air, but still successfully manages not only the family, the column and the books, but has created and marketed an entire line of products called the "Grace Line." From flatware to jewelry the one-woman mogul has earned a spot on the famed QVC Shopping Network while continuing to inspire, comfort and encourage people everywhere with her inspirational words and merchandise.

In the midst of the production of the audio book and her other endeavors, Catherine found time to create a product, this time, with all the proceeds going to cancer research.  It will be presented on May 1, 2009, between 12-2pm on QVC.  She's hoping for a sellout to support the foundation.

Please forward this newsletter to everyone you know to watch and buy to support this cause.

On The Radar:
dis-connected

What do you get when you cross 2 mainstream rock chicks with a 12-string acoustic, a 6-string, a tamborine, a bass, and a harmonica?  You'd probably be at a dis-connected concert.

dis-connected (whereas the signature lower case "d" is intentional), an all-female rock duo, pull out all the plugs in their eclectic set of songs from California Dreamin' by the Mama's & The Papa's to the more recent, If You Could Only See by Tonic.  With Michelle Tavano on the 12-string guitar, bass, harmonica and vocals, and Donna Preli on acoustic guitar, bass and vocals, they deliver unique versions of popular songs that are extremely "easy on the ears." dis-connected
Based out of the New Haven area, Michelle and Donna have performed together for the past 8 years, blend their distinct talents together to acquire a sweet sound, and are definitely on the radar to watch.

Along with playing happy hours at your local watering hole, dis-connected has put some enjoyable time in recording at Trod Nossel Studios.  "The recording experience was very informative and a lot of fun! The atmosphere in the studio was very relaxed and comforting," says the dynamic duo.  Their intention is to go back to record some personal favorites and possibly a few originals... yup.  Stay tuned!

Check out dis-connected this Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Eli's in Hamden for a 9:30pm show.
