For over 43 years now, Trod Nossel Studios has consistently offered various training in audio engineering along with the host of other services we provide.  We're proud to announce we now offer four unique engineering training programs; with our one day seminar, computer recording course, and the MRT I & MRT II courses, there is a course offering to suit the needs of, and accommodate students and participants of different skill and interest levels.

Since all of these classes are kept relatively small for your benefit, seating is extremely limited so it is never too early to reserve your seat* and/or get on a waiting list for the next class.

Studio A - Main Control Room @ Trod Nossel Studios
Spend a full day shadowing a professional audio engineer during an actual recording session with a band and watch how music is made.  Includes a question and answer period.  Whether you aspire to be an audio engineer, or just love music and the audio arts, this one day shadowing seminar is for you.

Computer Recording
Techniques
(CRT)

Pro Tools Screen Shot

An in-depth look into the technology of computer recording techniques.  CRT introduces the basics of computer recording in general, with focus on the industry standard recording software, Pro Tools by Digidesign.  This course is ideal for musicians, aspiring audio engineers, freelance engineers and producers.  Various demonstrations are presented on how an actual computer recording is done, as well as some focus on mixing, including the use of various plug-ins.

Techniques I
(MRT I)
Console

MRT I is a comprehensive course in audio engineering that familiarizes students with many aspects of recording.  It covers the basics of sound and sine waves, to types of microphones, mic'ing techniques, bussing, EQs and such.  This course is 6 weeks of theory and 6 weeks of practical application.  This is strictly recording and focus is on the console, patching, and studio basics.  Pro Tools is introduced in MRT II.

Band In The Studio

MRT II is a 6 week practical using what students have learned in CRT and MRT I.  You will be doing 6 recording sessions supervised by a Trod Nossel Staff Engineer.  This is our most advanced, and hands-on course in which the students actually are the engineers.
