ATTENTION
BANDS
Record At Trod Nossel Studios for only $15 per hour*
Here's how:

If your band is
interested in becoming the band for the Engineer For A Day
seminar, (8 hour session), please call 203.269.4465 to get
your name on the waiting list and for full details, or send us
an email using our
contact form at the Trod Nossel website. Before doing so,
please review the below information to see if your band fits
the eligibility requirements.
Basic Session Information:
You will be able to
track, overdub, edit and mix AT LEAST one song. You may
record up to three songs, but for our purposes, one must be
completed in the allotted time period. If you choose to
complete any remaining session work or incomplete song(s), it
will be subject to the regular studio rate at a later date as
a standard studio session. Your band will be eligible for the
program if your project is determined to be suitable by our
A&R department to provide educational value to our
participants. You will still be getting the same professional
recording with a professional engineer you always have at Trod
Nossel. This is not a hands-on practical for students like
our other training programs and curriculum, so it's as if you
came in on a regular day with a regular staff engineer; i.e.
the participants are only there to observe and shadow the
engineer. The only difference is that it may take a little
longer since the engineer will be explaining as he goes and
answering questions throughout the session, therefore, things
may take a little longer than usual. There will also be a
scheduled lunch break.
Eligibility:
To be considered your band must meet the following criteria:
1. You must be an established band, and well
rehearsed. If you just gathered for the first time yesterday,
you're probably not ready.
2. You do not need to be an existing client to be
considered, however, studio clients who are regular,
dedicated, paying clients, will be considered before anyone
else. (Sorry, our regular clients come first and will get
first consideration)
3. No making up songs on the fly. Please be sure if
the material is original, it is written and you have rehearsed
it. Cover material is acceptable as well.
4. You must have at least 4 pieces in your band, with
one being drums; i.e. guitar, bass, drums, vocals. If you
have more than 4 pieces, that is fine but a full drum kit is a
must to showcase mic'ing techniques, getting sounds, etc. You
must bring your own kit.
5.
If you have keyboards in your band, you may bring in
your own equipment or use one of our various keyboards
available, however, if you wish to use the Yamaha C7 Grand
piano, you will be subject to the full $120 tuning fee (plus
tax) prior to the session in addition to any other charges.
6. You must have a convenient method for us to
showcase your material. We will not come out to shows or make
special arrangements for A&R. A link to a music site like
MySpace or some streaming media is best, and we will only
accept MP3s with prior approval. Send in your preliminary
info as stated below and we will request material from
suitable bands that have no other online means to audition.
Some of our regular clients don't need to send samples if we
are familiar with what they do. We will let you know if you
are one of them when and if you show interest in this program.
7. Do not randomly send MP3's or music files to us
for consideration unless you are specifically asked to do so.
All unsolicited material will be trashed without being heard.
8.
