RICHARD P. ROBINSON
Trod Nossel's Chief Engineer
from the 70's through the millennium...

Inquiring minds want to know.  He's never too far away and continues to be a huge support source  and consultant for his old stomping ground and the Cavalier family since the departure of the late, great, Doc Cavalier (appearing with Richard in the above photo).  Having been synonymous with Trod Nossel for so many decades, RPR's (Richard P. Robinson) initials remain in our archives on everything from track sheets, to course material, record releases, contracts and booking forms, as a permanent imprint in Trod Nossel history.   We are grateful for Richard's (affectionately known as "Richie") dedication, professionalism, expertise and friendship.  We caught up with Richie recently to get an update on what he's doing over in la-la land.  Stay tuned...

Blues Still Got A Hold On NELSEN ADELARD
Nelsen Circa 1974In 1973, the threshold of Trod Nossel was graced when a young blues talent walked through it.  It was the first time the young man had ever been in a studio.  He was coming in to record a demo with then, semi-fledgling engineering prodigy, Richard Robinson, at the controls.  The artist had no idea that he was about to be bitten by the blues bug, and to embark on a journey which would carry him through the next several decades of wild rides and professional musicianship.  The artist was none other than Nelsen Adelard.

  From The Chief Engineer
Mixing vs. Mastering, What's The Deal?

Many people new to the recording process hear these two terms, "mixing" and "mastering," tossed around quite a bit. As an engineer, I often find that there is some confusion as to what these two things actually are, and what gets accomplished in each process. Hopefully we'll shed a little light on these often misunderstood tasks in audio production.

EDDIE CORCORAN'S STORY

Since our last newsletter, Little Eddie and the Corcoran's were released from from Dana Farber in Boston.  If all continues to go well, the family may be back home in CT after a long summer by the time this newsletter is out!

Daddy Corcoran will be walking in a benefit walk in Boston this month (Sep 2007) to benefit the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  To garner donations for the walk, even though he is a DIE HARD Red Sox fan, he has petitioned his Yankee counterparts by promising to wear Yankees shirt and cap throughout the whole walk (that's BIG for Kevin) in exchange for donations for the cause.

For complete info on Eddie and the Corcoran's, and the benefit walk, please visit the Care Page at www.carepages.com, page name: EddieCorcoran, or for more info, please visit our past newsletters below.
