NELSEN ADELARD

Oh... we're gonna tell you, but not right now. An upcoming newsletter will feature Nelsen; how he first came to Trod Nossel, what he's done since, and where he's headed.  Can you say, "mini-tour?"  He and the "Nelsen Adelard Band," bandmates are making a trip from down in the Delta, and may just be playing early this fall at your favorite CT hotspot.  So, if you have any friends that were fans of the band from the "days of old," be sure and forward the newsletter using the "forward email" link so that they can get all the dirt on Nelsen and the rest of the guys.  You ain't never heard the blues until you've heard Nelsen sing 'em!  Stay tuned...

  In The Studio With INK
  Photo: Scott Bigletti
Trod Nossel client, INK, is in the studio finishing up their latest brain child, "Bleed."  It consists of 6 songs, with Chief Engineer, Brendan Muldowney at the helm.  The project is quite unique, with "in your face" riffs and arrangements, yet highly tasteful for this hard rock style of music.  The songs literally seem to jump out at you.  The entire staff is anxious to hear the finished master.  We got a chance to sit down and chat with INK for a few minutes.  Read on.....

TROD: Who is INK?
INK: Solar Steve-Lead/Rhythmic Guitars/Lead Vox, Gonz-Drums and Percussion, Richie Rich-Low End Theorist.

TROD: How did you get started and what was your motivation?
INK: We first threw ourselves onto the music scene with a sound that reasserted the guitar riff driven/bass and drum groove of Rock and Roll.  We intended to reintroduce modern rock the way it was meant to be delivered and heard.

TROD: Obviously you're no stranger to the stage.  What are some of the venues you've played?
INK: We've graced the stages of Toads Place, CBGB's (R.I.P.), Arlene Grocery, The Continental, Tuxedo Junction, Webster Theater and supported some national recording artists such as Living Colour, L.A. Guns, Gilby Clarke of Guns 'n' Roses/SuperNova, Quiet Riot, Bang Tango, Beautiful Creatures and Murphy's Law.  All of these shows were extremely well received and we are happy to say that the reviews were extremely positive.

TROD: We hear you got some feedback from some heavy hitters in the industry.  Can you tell us about it?
INK: Sure.  We've received critical praise from the likes of Sony Music, Columbia Records and Virgin Records stating that we are getting a reputation for creating our own music genre.

TROD: What brought you to Trod Nossel?
INK: Literally from the day that INK was formed, Trod Nossel has been recommended to us.  We heard that the place was one of the longest running studios around, and that it was highly respected and regarded.  So, we decided to record and produce our 6th album there.  We have recorded in many great studios over the years and always had Trod Nossel on our minds.  We finally came in for a tour and met with the studio manager, Christopher, and Tom Cavalier, who we knew through Miracle Concerts, and the look and vibe of the place got us fired up to rip out some live tracks immediately.  The live room set up was crucial to what we wanted to capture.

TROD: What was it like working with Brendan?
INK: We can't say enough great things about Brendan.  It was a pleasure having him at the wheel.  He is by far one of the best we have worked with in the industry and we encourage any band out there to stop in for a quick listen to our recent hit entitled, "Hated," in Trod Nossel's mixing room to hear the magic that has been created.

TROD: When will this project be completed?
INK: We are excited to release it before 2008.

TROD: Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Guys.

That's right.  You pronounced it correctly.  It's a name we all need to learn how to pronounce, but it's spelled, "DelGuidice," as in, Michael DelGuidice.  Although best known as the front man and mastermind of the premier Billy Joel Experience (and pictured at the left with Billy Joel), Big Shot, Mike's got his own solo agenda.

Purchase "Miller Place" Mike recently released his CD, "Miller Place," and mastered it here at Trod with Tyler Wilkinson.  As you listen to the 9 songs on the CD, it's like listening to that old favorite CD where you know every word, every riff, and chord change... even when you hear it for the first time.  The songs are loaded with emotion and, although literally all the songs are great, there are a few that just give you chills and make your hair stand on end... you just know they are hits.

Okay, so not only are the songs fantastic, but just about every song was written and produced by Mike.  He also played every instrument you hear on the tracks, with the exception of a few here and there (all the details are on the CD booklet).  Talk about talent...!

We HIGHLY recommend getting yourself a copy of this incredible release and learning more about this artist. Everyone has their own opinion, but Holy Water and Daydream are two that seem to be favored; although it's really hard to say as all nine are great.  You can hear clips of these at his website as well as CD Baby.  His CD release is scheduled for October 13 at Mulcahy's in Wantagh, NY.

As Mike continues to write great songs, he also continues to wow his audiences with Big Shot, featuring an all-star line-up of musicians, where they invariably play to sold out houses with standing room only wherever they go.
