Special News Release Trod Nossel and its affiliates have opted to forego our normal newsletter for April, to bring you an important message. Meet Eddie Corcoran. Eddie is only 2 1/2, and is the only child of Kevin & Colleen Corcoran of West Haven, CT. (Kevin is an AT&T employee and Colleen is a West Haven school teacher). Eddie has been recently diagnosed with a rare form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia that only affects a very small percentage of all diagnosed cases. It is considered aggressive and is high risk. Since his diagnosis in March, Eddie and family have been admitted to Yale New Haven Hospital on and off for the last several months, and due to this, Colleen is unable to work and will not be able to indefinitely. Eddie faces a bone marrow transplant at Dana Farber in Boston in June, with Dad, Kevin, as the anticipated donor. In December of 2006, a beautiful Christmas card with Eddie's picture, sitting in front of their tree, was sent around to family and friends, a true depiction of a young, happy family with a bright future ahead: A beautiful child, and wonderful family, with hopes and dreams of the coming months; spring, playing baseball in the yard (Eddie and Dad are Red Sox fans); and/or summer at the beach, cookouts with family & friends, or maybe even a Sox game, and Mom looking forward to the summer off from teaching, to relax and regroup, after spending the school year molding the young minds of tomorrow. That is how they thought the year would play out as they sat and wrote out those Christmas cards, until life threw them a curveball just a few months later. Since then, the family has spent the spring so far in a series of doctor visits, testing, and at Yale doing 5-day long stints of chemo and various surgeries, not to mention some medical complications, and their entire summer months will be spent in Boston at Dana Farber to undergo the bone marrow transplant, away from family and friends, in a strange place, in an effort to save the life of their beloved son; not exactly the 2007 that they had planned. Trod Nossel has spent the last 40+ years helping people achieve their dreams through music, so it is at this time we ask that you help us, help this family. Please forward this newsletter to everyone you know. Prayers welcome. Here's how you can help: 1 - Buy a Ticket to the Eddie Corcoran benefit dinner (or please help us sell these, or both). A benefit is being held Friday, June 15th 5:00 – 9:00 PM West Haven Elks Lodge 265 Main Street to raise money in the hope of offsetting any medical cost and financial strain faced by the family. Cost is $30 per person, $5 for children. Food and Drinks will be served and there will also be Raffle prizes. 100% of all proceeds will go to assist Eddie in his fight. For tickets contact: Ron Monaco 860-678-3683 2 - Make a Donation via US Mail. No amount is too small. Please send donations to: The Eddie Corcoran Fund 3 - Make a Donation via PayPal. You may make a donation via your Paypal account, and/or a credit card donation using your Paypal account to the following email:
Again, NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL. |

Did you know
that some
families that need
bone marrow transplants are not always that lucky in finding donors?
To be tested to become a donor, it is a simple cotton swab to the
inner cheek of your mouth and could make a world of difference to
someone. If you don’t live in CT but would like to help, please call
800-366-6711 or go online to http://www.dkmsamericas.org/how/join.html
and request a free bone marrow donor kit. |
